The Audacity Of Hate

On March 23, 2010, President Obama signed Health Care Reform into law.  Two point five seconds later, radicals ran to their Twitter accounts, calling for his assassination.  No really, they literally said, he should be assassinated.  And then they went on to describe how it should be done.  Wow, I remember back in the Bush days that you were labeled unpatriotic and a terrorist if you so much as called him 'wrong' for sending us into Iraq, but now those same people are hoping some wackjob will actually listen to their inciteful hate speech and do their heavy lifting for them.  Dr. Tillman anyone?  Disgraceful, but still a constitutional right and since I cherish my right to spout off whenever I take a breath, I have to cede the floor no matter what they have to say.  As Voltaire said: I may not agree with what you have to say but I will defend to the death your right to say it.  Peronslly though, I just hope that the truly criminally insane are on their Lithium at the moment.

Speaking of Healthcare reform, I haven't heard anyone one of the haters articulating what it is exactly that they hate.  Could it be that they believed people should be denied healthcare for pre-existing conditions?  Pre-existing conditions such as being a women of child bearing years.  Or is it that they believe that Medicare fraud is a perfectly acceptable practice?  Oh wait, I know, they think it's gonna raise their taxes.  Ok, I can see how that would be a serious cause for concern for some because, let's face it, no one wants to pay the governemnt even more of their hard earned money for nothing in return.  What?  The tax increase will be 1% for people who make over a million dollars a year?  Huh.  Well that is disturbing.  Poor Millionaires. It breaks my heart thinking that they are sitting at home crying into their silk ties while shitting in a gold toilet bowl.  Life is so unfair.
